Visiting Belper and came across this lovely pub just off the main road. Very pleasant landlady, let me test the ale before deciding on which to have. Has an extensive outside area with lots of seating.

We hired the private fuction room for a birthday party and I couldn't have been more happy with the whole experience. The landlord and staff of the Old Kings head was super accommodating and friendly. They made the whole experience seemless, going above and beyond to make sure that we had everything that we needed. I would definitely hire this room again for functions in future.

Had a lovely evening watch a folk band last night .the pub it's self is very charming with a great choice of beers and ciders. The staff and think he was the landlord all seemed very nice and friendly. The room upstairs for music was excellent apart from the seats are uncomfortable after a bit . But all in all a most enjoyable evening

Very friendly backstreet pub - the oldest in Belper. No frills or gimmicks, just a comfortable couple of bars and a nice outdoor area. Always something going on, with live music regularly, a large function room upstairs and a good quiz night.
